Thanksgiving Placemat Craft For Kids
Former Thanksgiving hater here. As a kid slash unmarried without children adult I was always so annoyed that my brothers/uncles/dad got to spend Thanksgiving watching football on the couch, or playing football outside and the women were slaving away in the kitchen alll. Day. All day!
But, with children I now see that maybe the men were “watching” the children (AKA at least listening for screams or dealing with blood) while the cousins all played together and the women got to enjoy cooking together and snacking while the kids were taking care of each other (on dads watch).
Who needs parents when you have cousins? At my house there are usually at least a dozen cousins running around doing who knows what. But, I have found I crave some special interaction with kids when they are so many people around.
This year I’m going to make the effort to sit down with my kids and create some special moments together by making these easy crafted placemats for Thanksgiving dinner. We did a little friendsgiving and it was a big hit! We also kept the crayons out during dinner to give the kids something to do between courses. The perfect kids craft for Thanksgiving… ya know in case those dads need a break 😉!
I order tons of rolls of this brown paper for Christmas/ crafts all year round. It is the perfect brown paper for wrapping presents/ crafts and comes in a jumbo roll.
I’ve made the mistake of wrapping presents with brown contractor paper before. No bueno. The weight of the paper is KEY to success!
Hope you all have the best Thanksgiving!
